The Graduation Day

To begin with, I wanna clarify it's not my graduation day! Mine is gonna be held next year.. But I just wanna share about my school graduation day. I have a chance to witness the 2009 graduation by become an usher.. This year graduation's is so special coz it's the 1st time that Prasetiya Mulya has undergraduate students! And I feel lucky to be participated in this big event :)

About 2 months ago, I was asked by the graduation officials (who are member of Prasetiya Mulya for sure) to become an usher in the middle of the lift. As I remember I was in a hurry of class so I just smiled and said "okay" then after the lift opened I directly run to my class, haha..

December 10, 2009..

Here comes the big day! I arrived at Menara 165 at 6.30 am and there was hectic already.. I went to my place which was the balcony. With 2 partners, we took and manage the guests flow. It wasn't a hard job at all but what makes tired sometimes was I had to went up and down stairs for uncountable times (hyperbolic mode: ON) with heels >.<

As an usher, especially in the balcony I had several benefits such as seats (coz most guests chose to sit in the ballroom so we got some seats), goody bag (which contains graduation book, magazines, brochures and sponsored books by alumni), free buffet especially for the officials (nice appetite!), transportation and also some pay-off.

More importantly, I have known about the graduation day before I have my own.. So I understand what should I do and don't and be familiar with all those things. It's good to know earlier or at least know.. And other issue was someone I used to love graduated as well. I saw him from up there even it wasn't clear enough, hehe.. I was happy for him and wish him success in every way he takes!

So, that's the story about the graduation day and hopefully next December I'll write again about the graduation day but not as a witness or an usher or an official but as a graduate :)

Romance Is In The (YM) Air

Someone is playing guitar and singing Love Bug, Hero and When You Say Nothing At All especially for me via YM.. Though the sound quality isn't excellent because of the internet connection but it's soo romantic! ^^ not only the songs but also the way he present them to me, hohoho.. I hope someday he can perform it live in front of me, well he has promised :D

Pengembangan Produk Melalui Komunitas, Why Not?

Sebagai mahasiswa bisnis tingkat akhir di suatu perguruan tinggi swasta di Jakarta, saya cukup familiar dengan teori manajemen tentang pengembangan produk. Ada beberapa tahapan yang harus dilakukan ketika ingin mengubah ide menjadi suatu produk yang sukses di pasar. Tahapan-tahapan tersebut antara lain analisis bisnis secara menyeluruh, proses testing, kemudian barulah produk yang sudah siap dan sempurna diluncurkan ke pasar.

Kebetulan saat ini saya sedang mengerjakan tugas akhir saya berupa proyek bisnis yang tentunya tak bisa lepas dari proses yang telah disebutkan sebelumnya. Hal ini disebabkan karena dari pihak kampus sendiri memberikan bimbingan yang memang mengarahkan mahasiswa untuk mengikuti prosedur tersebut dengan harapan produk yang dihasilkan dapat sukses nantinya.

Saya akui bahwa teori penciptaan produk baru yang telah diajarkan memang bagus. Namun, saya sungguh terinspirasi setelah membaca artikel The New Wave Marketing di Kompas.com dimana di era sekarang ini perlu adanya perubahan pandangan terhadap proses penciptaan sebuah produk melalui pendekatan komunitas.

Poin penting yang dibahas dalam The New Wave Marketing adalah orientasi pada komunitas baik dalam hal pemasaran maupun pengembangan produknya. Bagi saya, pemasaran terhadap komunitas sudah lumrah karena beberapa perusahaan terkenal yang telah menerapkannya. Akan tetapi pendekatan komunitas bagi pengembangan produk merupakan hal yang baru untuk saya karena saya tak pernah membayangkan bahwa proses R&D yang terkesan ekslusif dapat melibatkan sebuah komunitas.

Pandangan saya berubah ketika saya membaca Cerita Eli Lilly dengan e.Lilly yang mengemukakan kisah sukses perusahaan farmasi yang mendobrak pandangan tradisional tentang pengembangan produk yang biasanya dilakukan semata-mata oleh periset dari dalam perusahaan saja. Kisah ini sungguh menginspirasi karena sebelumnya mungkin kita tak akan terpikir bagaimanakah sebuah perusahaan farmasi dapat memanfaatkan komunitas dalam pengembangan produknya.

Pendekatan komunitas membawa dampak yang sangat positif bagi Eli Lilly karena dalam pengembangan produk, ia melibatkan banyak pihak mulai dari pasien, dokter, periset, pihak rumah sakit, dll untuk berkolaborasi mengembangkan produk. Dengan menyediakan wadah seperti forum, program edukasi dan website dapat membuat para stakeholders saling sharing, mendapatkan insight baru hingga akhirnya solusi yang pas untuk konsumen. Hal ini tentunya dapat membuat proses pengembangan produk menjadi efisien dan efektif.

Saya disini tak akan membahas tentang e.Lilly dan bagaimana cara kerjanya lebih jauh karena untuk lebih lengkapnya silakan baca artikelnya sendiri. Disini saya hanya ingin menyampaikan bahwa kita harus berpandangan luas dan tak hanya berpegang pada teori yang telah diajarkan maupun bagaimana kompetitor berperilaku pada umumnya. Kita harus menyadari adanya gelombang baru dalam bisnis sekarang karena dunia pun telah berubah seiring berjalannya waktu. Jadi mengembangkan produk melalui komunitas, kenapa tidak?

The Premiere

That was written on the ticket and the envelope (yes, there's an envelope!) hohoho, I was so excited to enjoy my first Premiere experience.. I treated my friends as my birthday celebration, though it's a bit late hehehe. Actually I wanted to watch 2012 but one of my friend scared of it and the next best movie that worth it to watch was New Moon!

Well, the most distinctive features were the chair (huge and far from each other) and of course the blanket (which is supplied by my dad!) so we enjoyed the movie comfortably and a little bit "villagish" hahaha :D overall it was such a great experience! Really love it and hopefully in the future I can watch in The Premiere more often, amen..
